Faculty Promotions
The Faculty Appointments, Promotions and Tenure Committee is now accepting promotion dossiers for FY23-24.
The deadline for submitting dossiers to FATPC for consideration is October 1, 2023. Please submit your documents electronically via Box folder to Nicole Pires, Sr. Faculty Affairs Officer. All approved promotions will be effective July 1, 2024.
Please note that your Department Chair is responsible for advising and providing assistance in reviewing whether or not you meet the criteria for promotion and in reviewing your dossier prior to submission. In addition to your promotion dossier, you will be required to provide a list of names with contact information for individuals who have agreed to provide external letters of reference. The list can be sent to Nicole Pires, Sr. Faculty Affair Officer at nicole.pires@tufts.edu
Dossiers received after the deadline will be reviewed and considered for promotion with effective date of July 1, 2025.

The Faculty Appointments, Promotions and Tenure Committee (FAPTC) is responsible for development and implementation of all policies and procedures related to faculty appointments, promotions, and tenure. The Committee has the authority to initiate recommendations for promotion and tenure. If appropriate, the Dean may also initiate such recommendations. The Committee oversees the faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure review process, and will annually interview and advise faculty members on the tenure ladder. FAPTC comprises of seven full-time faculty members at the rank of Associate Professor or above, at least five of whom must be full Professors. At least one member should be tenured.
